Name a show you think has overstayed its welcome on tv.

American Idol. Simon's tight tshirts,Paula's drunkeness,Randy's same old lingo, and Ryan Seacrest for being Ryan Seacrest are all great reasons for this show to be kicked to the curve. There is only so many times you can watch really awful people thinking that they can sing and find it funny.

Most of them.  I rarely watch tv shows. I agree about AI. All reality shows should go away.  what is that one with the two guys and the kid? I have never watched it but it seems like it has been on forever.

Every single infomercial I've ever seen. Ruining opportunities for late night movies everywhere.

Speaking of infomercials, anybody feel like throwing a rock through your TV every time you hear Billy Mays voice? AAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhh   ... F&**king torture!!!!

Most of them.

What he said.  I don't make a point of watching any show on TV, at least not since PBS got rid of Last of the Summer Wine and started showing cartoons all day.

My tv usually stays unplugged throughout the week, then I just watch movies at the weekend. I can't bear tv shows these days, they are just repetitive garbage.

Shows like "Gossip Girl" and the clones that are coming. I'm not a prude, but I do miss the time when being in public required a touch of manners and decorum, and people were somewhat put out by sexually promiscuity by either sex. Now it is practically branding and is glorified by these shows, and if you suggest a hint of modesty, you are denying someone their expression of self.

Sadly, I have to say "The Simpsons."  I loved the early years, but I think it ran its course long ago.  Ten seasons would have been enough.

married with children was a parody of the sort of mindless tv sitcoms that networks pushed out from the 50's to the 80's.  you'd think that would have ended that whole thing but it didn't.  they still make those horrbile family sitcoms  with the" brightly lit couch " as described in a zippy the pinhead comic once that people fight and then make up and make jokes in between.

I can't believe people still watch those thigns they aren't the least bit funny

Totally agree. I'm just as big a fan as the next guy, but the simpsons have always been good but the charm of the show has worn off. I think now all they really care about is to keep the record for the longest running cartoon going.

I love The Simpsons, but I fully can understand why you guys would want it to end since it seems to have declined over the years.  However, I still feel the show can still bring the hits with some great episodes, like The Enternal Moonshine of a Simson's Mind or something like that.

As for shows that should go away, any show that deals with a celebrity's life should go.  I don't care to know what they are up to and how much better or worse they are then me.

We live in quite an interesting age. You can tell someone's sexual orientation and level of education from just their interests.

Ozzymandias speaks: Poker After Dark! Ugh! Let's watch a bunch of people insult each other while playing cards.

After work, I need something to make me laugh. By the time I get home, the late night shows are all over. One channel runs tabloid news shows, everything else is infomercials (even the cable stations I receive). Thank God, I 've got DVDs.

Ozzymandias has spoken!!!

Jag. It's like someone watched "A Few Good Men" and then said this would be a good show. If you've ever watched JAG you know that is so untrue. Jag is so cheesy. In a way I like it,but still its a car crash of a show. How it stayed on for 10 seasons is beyond me, I guess cause its military show they felt the need to leave it on.

Oh man I was off sick the past few days(and I was actually sick, dammit!) and daytime TV is worse than ever. They should just sign off the air until about 5pm. Even with Basic Cable there is nothing on. I guess they don't have to make good shows to make a good profit anymore.

Specifically, there are too damn many mindless talk shows. Learning ancient Sanskrit would be both more entertaining and more useful than watching Tyra or Maury or Bonnie  et al.
