I'd take that article with a pinch of salt.
I know biased journalism when I hear it. And I'm on their side !

Every hardcore PETA member I have ever met tend to be people I would not like to be alone with.  They frighten the hell out of me.  The basic ideals of the organization are good, but the tactics they use are along the lines of the Hitler Youth groups.  Their basic attitude (and keep in mind I am referring to the hardcore members, not the ones who donate because it seems like a worthwhile idea) is that they have a superior stance and anyone or anything in their way is wrong and should be put aside. If that includes terrorism, arson, breaking and entering and endangering the lives of people as well as animals, then so be it.

Giving animals their due is great.  Treating them with respect is the only right thing to due.  Abusing others, their property or the law is not the way to do things.

As far as this article goes, I would need to spend more time researching it than I care to spend.  It is just another bit of mud-slinging.  Go with your beliefs and stick to that.  Smearing the other guy to make yourself look better isn't acceptable either.

When I say I'm on their side I mean the animals, not PETA.

I'm a left wing but PETA are just something else !
Something loony and and dangerous.

PETA hurts the cause more than helps it with their nonsense. Just once I would like to see one of these rabid peta people go after a group of bikers about wearing leather instead of little old ladies wearing fur.

I am an animal lover but peta is crazy.

As a friend of mine once said:  "Using animals for testing is wrong. Let's use members of PETA instead."

Sorry, Doggett, I wasn't sure who you were referring to.  I'm for the animals as well, especially the ones that taste good.

PETA certainly kills animals.  I wasn't aware it was a secret.  They believe there are times when there is no other option, or when it is the most merciful.  I've heard PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk (who is bug-nuts insane, by the way) talk about it in a biography I saw on her once.

Penn and Teller did an episode of Bulls**t on PETA, and they addressed this issue.  In fact, most of the info on this article looks to be borrowed from that episode because the info looks almost identical.

PETA is not about keeping animals alive. PETA is about *not* keeping animals at all. PETA does not care if animals die as a result: at least they will die "free".

No the info is legit, that site has been around a long time and is a 501(c)(3) organization.

PETA does kill animals and in addition to that members of PETA are idiots.
