Well I'm at the end of my exploration of black dvd's specifically those of the Xyrus entertainment, 3 girls from south central LA. I only wish I had been rather alot drunker when watching these because they weren't all that funny and were kind of really slow. This is not to say I didn't enjoy them at all, just that they are not up to the level of ,say, Bill Zebubs bottom of the barrel horror comedies. They are better than many though.
Nerd Boy had a brief cameo in "Mama's foot" and is back. He's an Urkel type black nerd with a crush in this case it's on Dede who I am also really into and who was in the other movies. She is very charming here and of course beautiful. There are more outside shots in this movie and the lighting isn't done right. The writing and acting shows virtually no progression from the previous moves and in some cases, such as the scenes in the barber shop which couldn't help but remind me of the demented anti filmaking of "Black Shampoo", seem to have taken a step backwards. It kind of works in some cases though, particularly the white guy with the stuffed rhinocerous. I don't know what he's doing in this movie but he really tears it up in terms of delivering some really bent lines seemingly backward or sideways so they make no sense at all.
The guy who rolls his r's is back. He doesn't do that as much but I like when he goes "maaaan!". Now I do it all the time "you know what rrrrrrrrm sayin maaaaan!". The girls are in it more than in Mamas foot so that was good. Another thing I thought was interesting was there was a No Doubt/ Blink 182 type rock song at one point during one of Dede and Nerd Boys many romantic montage thingies. It wasn't a good song and it was mixed wrong but it showed they were willing to experiment.
bottom line: Unlike me, these people are out there doing something and for all it's faults their output shows a real hunger. What can I say: I like rap, I like cute girls and I like capitalism thus I give the whole enterprise my meaningless and useless
(note: most netflix reviewers would profoundly disagree)
