A good bad movie is like popcorn for the soul!

Has it really taken this film a whole year to make its way to video?  I knew I had been seeing previews of it on Lion's Gate releases for awhile, but that's ridiculous.  Well, I just finished watching it, and I'm gonna have to disagree with my friend ER, as much as it grieves me to do so.

I really liked this film!  It creeped me out as much as any horror movie I have seen in a long, long time.  The visual effects are great, and the scares are frequent and well-executed.  I watch a ton of horror, and most of it just doesn't faze me anymore, but this movie creeped me out, big-time!  The ending was a little over the top, but I still liked it.

BTW, the "based on a true story" part is apparently pretty hokey.  One family that lived in the house reported some weird stuff, but their stories didn't jive with each other and no one else has had any unusual circumstances to report.   Still, seeing that before the title made the film even more chilling while you were watching it.

Seriously, this one is worth seeing.

Sorry, ER!!

I liked it. Its has some pretty creepy parts but it drags a bit and im sooo tired of the "based on a true story" thing. But its worth watching for sure.

It was just kind of okay IMO. Virginia Madsen was quite good but the rest of the cast was too uneven at times. Thn ending was a letdown.  The film relied too much at times on cheap jump scares. But I have still seen worse though.  ** out of ****
