I appreciate this way more now then when I was a kid.  I think then I thought I was too old for this "urban" tripe, but now I recognize its innocence.

Nanny and the Professor was a stupid show but had a fantastic theme by the Addrissi Brothers.  I also loved the theme for The Courtship Of Eddie's Father by Harry Nilsson.

Soft and sweet,
Wise and wonderful,
Ooh, our mystical, magical Nanny.

Since the day that Nanny came to stay with us
Fantastic things keep happening.
Is there really magic in the things she does?
Or is love the only magic thing that Nanny brings?

You know our Nanny showed us
You can make the impossible happen
Nanny told us
Have a little bit of faith and lots of love.

Phoebe Figalilly is a silly name
And so many silly things keep happening.
What is this magic thing about Nanny, is it love? (or is it magic?)

Impressed that you remember that whole lyric.  The theme used to be available on youtube, but alas, I can't find it now.  Could find this one, though:

AHD,
Nanny was a stupid show but somehow I just loved the theme.  Courtship Of Eddie's Father was a very good show all around, and a great theme too.
Here's some clips of some of the best TV of the '70s..

What can I say...? JACKSON 5 ripoff...? TV nadir...?  I couldn't watch this program way back when, but I think I'm old enough now, with my educated palate and taste for nostalgia, that I could stand even the moldiest cheeze.

See what I mean?   Twirling pyew...

Rankin/Bass did the JACKSON 5 treatment, too, of course.   Wink

I had THE JOKER'S WILD home game when I was a kid.  Instead of spinning the wheels, you used 3 decks of cards.  When it was your turn, you turned over the top card on each deck ("Joker", "Joker", and a triple!)  Then you answered questions from a booklet that came with the game.  Of course, I was way too young to know most of the answers, but I enjoyed flipping the cards over.

Yeah, this one.

I used to dream I had the actual slides and lever in my bedroom.  I remembered the Devil in the bonus round creeped me out.. then I noticed he looked just like Jack Barry.  Then Jack Barry began to creep me out.
