From what Trace tells me, the character was called, "Bluey".
She had to pick up the kid, so she said I could pick the next character....

Who was this little guy, and what was the name of his superhero friend?

Don't know the kid's name but I believe the toon is Frankenstein Jr.  The kid's name is probably "Frank".  Never seen it but heard of it; just a bit before my time.

You got half of it; the kid's name was Buzz Conroy, and his father built the robot superhero known as Frankenstein Jr.

     You're up....
