Action figures, for sure. Anybody else have Battlestar Galactica figures? I've still got a Cylon just like this one. My daughter sometimes plays with it.


And I used to have a bunch of Fisher-Price Adventure People sets. They were aimed at the kids who outgrew Little People.


And speaking of Little People, I had quite a few of them, back when they were smaller and simpler. The Play Family Village saw a lot of use.

The three I showed above were the three I actually had and ripped off of those oh so cool cards they came on  ; I remember buying the Alpha-7 figure on the card out of the bargain bin at TWO GUYS probably 1969?  I was very young, but I know I paid a whopping 49 cents, plus whatever tax would have been then (like maybe 2 or 3 cents  ).  I have found a few of these thru collecting, have Orbitron and Xodiac, but of my original 3, have only been able to replace Electron+ ... I was lucky to find my example with his helmet, pistol, and most of his original "glaze" intact... here's pix from online:


Carded figures are extremely sought after and command mansion mortgage payments; the little pieces are important, too.

I remember seeing these at a Sears Outlet sometime in the 70's, but never bought any. I distinctly remember this guy from Neptune.

I had tons of Mego super heroes, Planet of the Apes (I still have the War Wagon/and the Tree House). My big GI Joes are not in good shape anymore, but because my brother and I each got one of everything I still have 2 jeeps, and 2 submarines.

My favorite card collection was Topps Weird Wheels, painted in glorious Big Daddy Ed Roth style by Norm Saunders. These were great monster cards.

I think I had all of these, made by BEN COOPER and AHI.  I particularly remember the Creature, Wolfman (the AHI one in blue pants) Frankenstein... and I think that bug man!!!

Boy did I love action figures. Being a child of the late 80s, early 90s, there were some interesting figures I had at one point or another.

I remember this generation of GiJoes, and still think this was the worst codename ever:

There was one period where they had Toxic Avengers action figures to coincide with the animated tv show:



Lego was huge for me.  My personal fav was the Robin Hood series:



Robots were fun.  Transformers of course were huge around my time.



Voltron of course was pretty cool too:



Movie and comic based action figures were big with me too.  The original star wars figures were basically my stalwart play-thing in my early childhood.

CREEPY CRAWLERS-
You took some goop and poured it into a mold...and made rubber bugs. Fun. That was about 1969.

Yeah, they rereleased them when I was younger...  1990-92ish?  I made a ton of the things.  Still remember the theme, sort of - "You can be a little creep without being bad!"

Growing up in the 1980s and 90s, I shared a lot of what has been mentioned..  Transformers, GI Joes, Turtles figures, etc.

Some of my more unique ones: a Godzilla figure (quite accurate too) that had an infrared sensor and would scream the Godzilla roar whenever someone walked in front of him.  Still have him, he's on a shelf above me. 

I also had a couple of Terminator 2 action figures - they're actually quite good figures.  Only had two, the triple armed (swappable arms, great idea) damaged Arnold and the T-800 exoskeleton. 

I was also really into the Kenner Aliens toys...




They're actually quite nice designs, on the whole.  Props to whoever did them.  I had every Alien (though not all the marines - I subbed in GI Joes, and all the humans were fodder in my battles anyway) except the swarm/wasp alien.



I'm not even positive it ever got a US release.  Never saw it in a store here.

Gotta love action figures. I had competely forgotten that Dennis Nedry was a muscular, gun-toting commando type. I'd have thought an action figure of Wayne Knight armed with pie and a shaving cream can would have been a huge seller.
