For some reason it took a while for it to sink in that the main character is played by Michael Jai White.

Yeah, everyone who has seen it has said it is pretty great.  It's also worth noting that while there are some tongue-in-cheek moments, it actually plays out like a 70s blaxploitation film on the whole (except that apparently the kung fu is way better, since Jai White choreographed it and is a very good on screen fighter).  It's also shot and developed on the same stocks and in the same way as those old films, so the look is spot on - to the point they have seamlessly integrated footage from actual 70s films. 

I'm pretty psyched.
