I've had this idea in my head for awhile now, one day I'm going to do a big thread about it, but for now, I need a good name (or acronym) for it.

Okay here it is... ever see/hear about a movie and think, "Whoa, awesome idea!" Then you actually watch the movie and that, "Man, that SUCKED! And the plot had SO much potential, if only someone else had done this..."

I tentatively call them, "Good premise, bad delivery."  But that doesn't sound all that fancy.

Now, granted, I suppose just about any premise could be good if you jazz it up enough, and even a simple idea could be neat if you get the write people behind it, but still, these I'm talking something that, in your opinion should have been Epic (or at least, decent) and yet it just went south.

Maybe it had a Spark of brilliance here and there, a scene or a moment, where you think, "Well, that tiny part was good" but for the vast majority of the running time, it was just a waste of potential.

Any ideas on what we could call these?

Lagomorphs: menace or underutilized resource?

A few possibilities for you:

Promising premise, dreadful delivery (if you happen to like alliteration)

P.U.D. (Premise Undermined by Delivery)

G.I.B.E. (Good Idea, Bad Execution)

B.I.G.O. (Brilliance In, Garbage Out)

Flaming Monkey (because flaming monkeys flying out of my backside sounds like a cool idea, but it would hurt like heck)

I'm apparently still half asleep, and I'm reaching, so I'll stop there.

Could've Really Used More Pizzazz, Execution Terrible

"this film is a CRUMPET, dude"

Potentially Interesting Scenario, Slightly Feeble Let-down And Poor Script

"this should have been a great movie but ultimately it was P*SS-FLAPS"
