First Andrew published my review of Steve Carver's An Eye For An Eye and now, our good Reverend Powell has published my review of Jans Rautenbach's landmark, scary and funny Jannie Totsiens on his site.

Thanks be to the good Reverend.  :teddyr:

Direct link (because that's going to fall off the front page eventually): http://366weirdmovies.com/recommended-as-weird-jannie-totsiens-johnny-farewell-1970/.  I believe this is the only full-length English-language review of the film on the web.  And it should be added that not only did Trevor review the movie, he actually translated the whole thing into English---only someone screwed up and put the subtitles in the wrong place so the print became unusuable.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

The print was going to be shown at an Austrian film festival until I checked it and discovered that some idiot had stuck the subtitles almost in the middle of the frame.  :buggedout:

That lead directly to me translating the whole script which took me three weeks and nearly drove me insane getting it right to honour my friend and mentor Jans Rautenbach.

I always used to fall off the front page when I was much younger.

There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far~ ruminations
