HELP!!! need title for an Old alien movie

I need help finding the title to an old movie i saw a long time ago. The plot pretty much goes like this (from what i do remember)...

two kids, brother and sister live with their parents, they go to school but some how the school bus driver has been taken over by alien and the driver takes them to this sort of sand field. if you step of the sand a swirl pool forms on the sand and it sucks you in. the way you can tell if a person is an alien impostor is because they have some type of connection port in the back of their necks. well the aliens are these huge eye like creatures that have like a slot in their foreheads and the boy figures out that if he puts a quarter in there they aliens die. i think the boys sister's get sucked in the swirl pool which is why he is forced to go rescue her. well in the end it turns out their parents were taken over by aliens because when they went for a hug the boy felt th back of their necks and they had the connection port. that is the rough idea of what the movie is about, if anyone has any clue what the he** im talking about please let me know. That would be the '50s movie Invaders from Mars or it's remake from the '80s.

I actually had a comic version of this movie lying around at one point.
