80´s or 90´s sci-fi movie

this is my first time in this forum, think it´s great idea, i´m a graphic designer n i have to present some sketches about cyborgs, i recall a sci-fi movie, don´t know if it was late 80´s or early 90´s i was too young, it was about a cyborg travelling to the past in a capsule sort of like a scape pot, he shows up in a swamp and his ship starts to submerge and he is trapped in, but there was this girl, she was around with a man and they helped the cyborg-soldier. i remember he was a soldier from the future he was wearing a gray suit (much like the marines in halo) and he had half of his face mechanic, but there was another soldier just alike who was chasing after him, he had the same kind of suit but it was red, i don´t remember much about this movie except for the final scene, the two soldiers were having a hand to hand combat and the gray one won, he put the other soldier in his ship and press some buttons randomly sending him to the far past were there wasn´t even life on the planet yet and that´s all i remember about this movie. if it´s of any help the soldier's look was too similar of those of universal soldier but it was a gray and a red suit, if you could help me out with the name of this movie or the actors in it so i can run a search and find it i will appreciate it, you can write me to chris_sobbel@yahoo.com, i really need to find this movie and i know i´m not giving too much to work with, sorry about that, thx and pardon my english, i´m mexican.

The part about the "red" one being sent far back in time sounds like how Eliminators ends.
