*looks around* I guess I'm having the thread all by myself  TeddyR

10/05:

My first visual highlight this month so far. The Thing looks stunning on Blu-ray! I just couldn't take my eyes off the screen. And Rob Bottin's effects were amazing in HD. Yes Sir. What a treat  Smile

I'm gonna let you finish, but I want to point out that Beyonce had one of the greatest videos of all time!

This thread is like a little time capsule  TeddyR

I haven't really started on my hardcore Halloween viewing yet, but I'll post here when I do.

10.01. - Kicking off my October viewings with:

Sssssss (1973)

Sssstill a fun 'Mad Scientist' flick even with Dirk Benedict's poor acting. I also love the educational first 30 minutes where the audience is told facts about venomous Ssssnakes. The Ending is a riot!
October/Halloween Score: 3/5 for including Mad Scientist, Animal Attack, Creature Effects, Sinister Experiments, Carnival Scene, Sideshow Scene, Slow Motion Shower Scene, Fight Scene, Skinny Dipping.

Horror Rises from the Tomb (1973)

Paul Naschy and friends lounge at an old mansion and encounter undead bloodthirsty ancestors. Entertaining over-the-top Eurotrash with splashes of gore and flashes of boobs.
October/Halloween Score: 5/5 for including Ghostly Vampiristic Creatures, White-eyed Zombies, Organ Music, Fog, Old Mansion, Lynchmob, Decapitation, Snowfall, Damp Autumn Atmosphere, Seance, Funny Dubbing, Robbery, Fight Scene, Sickle-Kill.

I kicked off my October viewing with Aerobicide (1986)

A slasher is loose at Rhonda's Workout club, and babes do aerobics in spandex and awesome '80s music plays!  It don't get no better than that  TeddyR  No matter how many people turn up dead on the premises, the girls never let it interfere with their workout classes - they're just THAT devoted to fitness.  I don't seem to remember the cops conducting any sort of investigation, but maybe I was too distracted by all the babes.  The killer uses an oversized safety pin as the murder weapon.  A very solid 4/5.   Thumbup

All the horror movies I'll be seeing this month will be for my review blog.  As such, the movies I'll be watching this month are:

The Shaft (Just finished)
Sea Beast
Vampire's Night Orgy
Scooby-Doo (Live Action version)

and probably more.  I'll see what else I can did from my collection.

10.02.

Don't Go in the House (1980)

A whimpy nutcase is torching ladies at his place. He is also hearing voices in his head and he is curious about the local Disco scene. Semi-grim and partially sleazy Psycho knock off.
October/Halloween score: 3.5/5 for including a chilly snowy atmosphere, Old Mansion, Disco Muzak, Drunk Chicks, Fight Scene, Awkward Behavior, Corpse Slapping, Crispy Undead Victims.

The Boogeyman (1980)

Brother and sister are haunted by childhood drama through an old mirror. Supernatural Uli Lommel Slasher with a farm setting, heaps of bad filmmaking and very memorable kill-scenes.
October/Halloween score: 4.5/5 for including Amityville Windows on the farm house, Kitchen utensil skewering ala Carrie, Demonic Possession ala The Exorcist, Michael Myer-isms ala Halloween, Blouse Ripping, Unwanted Flashbacks, Dinner with a Priest, Kitchenknife Stabbing, Kitchen levitation, Slut-choke in Barn.
