Alcohol had nothing to do with what I was talking about, as he didn't have access to it at the time he was working for me.

In the news story you linked it stated in it:
Quote
In his confession, Mr. Meach said of the day of the killings: ''I'm a fool. I'll admit it. I had some drinks in a bar. I did all the things I wasn't supposed to do.''
So he did have access to it the very day of the murders he commited. So alcohol did have a lot to do with it.

No. This is what I said:
"He worked for me for a year or so in 2001-2002, and they had to adjust his meds a few times during that time. When I took over the shop, MH and I had long talks, and one of the things they told me was that they had to adjust his meds because of the anxiety he had over getting a new boss. Eventually he got mellowed out, but it took a while for him to talk to me without seeming scared."

Like I said, alcohol had nothing to do with it.

I was under the impression you were talking about the news story you posted a link to and his crimes, not when he came to work for you.
However what you mention is not uncommon for many people with a history of anything. People with a criminal background, recovering substance abusers, and persons with mental illness all are fearful to some degree how any employer might react when they have to disclose their past issues. They could get a job working in a library and would experience the same anxiety as they would working in a noise filled environment. The source of his anxiety was having a new supervisor not the lights or noise of the work environment. That itself can be a stressor to any person.

[covers eyes]

That happened here in Spokane.  My fiancee and I were at that fair before it happened.
