I wanted to buy the DVD of SEVEN DOORS OF DEATH, this is Lucio Fulci's Horror film THE BEYOND. I know that the DVD that was released by Diamond goes under the SEVEN DOORS OF DEATH title, but is it the uncut version of the film?

I've heard that it was uncut but I wanted to make sure, is this the same transfer used for the uncut EC laserdisc of the same film? The Diamond DVD of SEVEN DOORS OF DEATH is really cheap, but can somene tell me if it is uncut or not?

I haven't seen the Diamond release of "Seven Doors of Death", but if I were you, I would go ahead and get Anchor Bay's excellent release of "The Beyond". I've seen some of Diamond's other releases and the quality was a little poor, though at least they are super cheap. Though you should be able to get Anchor Bay's version around $15 and it is definitely the uncut. Plus you get a commentary track by the late, great David Warbeck and Catriona Macoll. This is one of the best dvd commentaries I've ever heard. Good luck with your decision!

I've only seen the anchor bay beyond tin case dvd in best buy once for $15 but they only had one and then never again. The diamond version is uncut also to answer your question.

I bought the Diamond DVD before I knew it was actually the same movie as THE BEYOND.  I haven't looked at it lateley, but the quality of the transfer isn't bad.  Nowhere near "good", but it's certainly watchable.

If you're a fan of Fulci, or Euro-horror in general, you should probably by the deluxe version.  If you just want a bare-bones copy, the Diamond DVD is certainly serviceable.  Plus it only cost me six dollars.
