It's a movie about a small town.  A young boy lying in his bed hears the sound of a train pulling to a stop.  He goes to investigate and finds a carnival thatwasn't there before.  (I forget some of the movie)  The boy ends up back at home in his bed at nighttime hearing things and then seeing hundreds of tarantellas in and around his bedroom.....

Someone please help me find this movie.  It was the first horror movie I had seen.  Thx

You can see the spider scene about 4:00 or so in this clip:
