Thinking of leaving the internet....

I'm thinking of going without the internet for awhile.  They just raised the cost a little bit, so now with cable internet and phone services I'm paying about $100 a month with taxes.  The phone has free long distance, caller ID and voice mail, but hell, I don't really have anyone to talk to, and I sometimes wonder if maybe I spend too much time on the internet anyway, and should focus more on trying to pay off some debts.

I mean, they have the internet at work and at the public library, so I can get on there on occasion to check mail and get books through inter-library loans and check for possible job openings (which I've never really found online anyway...)

I don't know, I'll have to mull it over.  Maybe I could just switch to DSL and just use my cell phone for calls.  It's not as fast as cable, but still... course, I'd have to see if I can set up voice mail on my tracphone.

Dunno.

You don't ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO have internet but it certainly is good to have IMO.  As for phone, I would just stick with a cell, as a lot of people I know do.

I have DSL and a regular phone line and altogether it costs 60 or 70 something a month.  Not too terrible.

If your debts aren't too daunting I suggest you keep the internet in your household.  It's not the only source of information immediately available to you but it sure as hell is the fastest.  Weigh your options and do what you feel is right.

They just raised our rates, like 3 bucks for phone and 2 for internet.  I can't imagine going without it though, I do all my shopping online.  Going back to buying stuff in stores, man, it's so twentieth century  :bluesad:  I'd never be able to find a used copy of Cutie Honey for $4 at Target.

Maybe get DSL if it's cheaper, and just use your cell phone.
