I think the skin is too homogenic. It needs more highlighting.
What do you think?

I'm late getting back here to chat.  My apologies.

From the picture, it does appear that the coloring is a bit to much of the same in spots.  Have you tried a thinned ink wash?  I knew a guy who painted a huge ork army fast, because he would base them with a color, apply the ink washes, then be done with painting.  He'd apply the clearcoat spray right after the wash.  The final effect was pretty good.  I think it works better for darker colors, like greens or such.

No problem. Better late than never. Smile

No, I haven't used an ink wash. Maybe I'll get a green ink.
By the way, painting an ork army takes a lot of time. I have a long way to go...

Hey, Andrew, I've heard that there are new tyranids coming out.
Have you got any of them?

Hive guard, gargoyles, and the new trygon - sure did.  My army list is going to have to change some.  With the codex changes and the durability of vehicles in V5 compared to V4, I think that trygons are going to be my best vehicle killers.  However, I can tell you that hive guard are evil against light armor.

I used to play Warhammer and 40K.
I got into it around 10, when I got my first Space Marine squad. *sigh* Who didn't love the Blood Angels chapter ???

I used to collect Empire and Dwarfs for Fantasy and Orks for 40K. It got kinda pricy (I was never too good at painting, I did try though) so I gave up, but still play DOW. I also moved away from any GWs and I didn't have anyone to play tabletop Warhammer with.

I'm currently trying to master the Sisters of Battle on Soulstorm.  Smile

Still tryin' to kill the forces of Chaos !  Wink
