Totally by chance, we tackled two vampire movies named THIRST this week:
Pam on the
1979 Australian THIRST: "Kidnapped, tranquilized mortals are put out to pasture and herded in a couple of times a week to be 'milked' for, you guessed it, rich, red, raw human blood! They are referred to as 'blood cows,' and they are drained of a pint or so each time via the latest technology in a huge row of sanitary stalls. They don’t appear to be very happy about it either, but then, that’s a good incentive to unionize."
I concluded that Chan-wook (OLDBOY) Park's
2009 THIRST left me thirsty for more.
In news unrelated to movies tilted THIRST, Eric covered Jennifer (BOXING HELENA, daughter of David) Lynch's newest mindbender,
SURVEILLANCE, and Alfred brought us
a few odd Yuletide favs. (Did SANTA CLAUS VS. THE MARTIANS make it?)
And we were especially honored that indie horror director Graham (I CAN SEE YOU) Reznick dropped by to list his
10 Favorite Weird Films.
