Hanniger! I'll be waiting in HELL for you!

« on: December 12, 2009, 12:37:16 AM »

This thread has probably been thrown around before but I haven't seen it.  I haven't dug up the last 100 pages or so to find it, either, but good food is a subject near and dear to my heart.  And stomach.

My faves:

Steak
Burgers
Fried Chicken
Chicken Fried Steak
Milkshakes
Cherry Ice Cream
Salisbury Steak
Grilled onions
Bacon
Shells And Cheese or big fat macaroni noodles and cheese
Cheese
Steak and Cheese Sandwiches
Pizza with meat, meat and more meat
Black Olives
Clam Chowder
Crackers
Cheetos
Cheez-its
Chocolate

Huff, huff.. that's all I can think of for now.

sushi.

Seriously, I could live on sushi only for the rest of my life. Greatest food ever made.

Besides that I like everything that is good. Example: we made restaurant style Reuben sandwiches yesterday with dill pickles and home made potato salad. Everybody loved it.

Also like:

Soul Food (southern cooking in general)
Fast Food
Junk Food
Holiday cooking (our Thanksgiving was a blast)
Fish
Salad, creamy tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches with a side of potato chips at least once a week (all kinds of Sandwiches, soups and salads are appreciated).

There's a place in Minneapolis called Frankie's Chicago Style Pizza.  Absolutely love that stuff.
Mushroom and Swiss burgers from Hardees.
Onion rings and dipping sauce - we got a recipe from the Racheal Ray show.  Mmmm.
Bratwurst and kraut.
Cookies fresh out of the oven.
Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Egg Nog.
Mom's cheesecake.

In no particular order:

* Veal Parmagiana

* Chateaubriand (which I'm lucky to get once every year or two if my wife and I go to a fine restaurant for our anniversary or something)

* Veal Oscar

* Braciola

* Ricotta cheese raviolis with meat sauce

* Pizza (just about any toppings are okay)

* A large roast beef sandwich with barbecue sauce and cheese from the world-famous Kelly's Roast Beef in Massacusetts

* Lobster (boiled or baked-stuffed)

* Prosciutto pie (it's sort of like a quiche with prosciutto in it - - it's a family tradition and we get it ONLY on Easter)

* My mother's fried chicken

* My mother's beef stew with dumplings

Wow, I havent seen a Hardee's in 20 years probably.  They closed all of them in the west.  I loved their mushroom and swiss burgers, and their pies.  I like a lot of stuff, some fof it cooked by my grandmother who is long gone, so I'll never eat it agian.
Some food's I'll drop anything to have are:
Pork Pie (an English Snack food)
Scotch Eggs (see above)
My grandmother's coffee sponge cake.  No one has managed to match hers
Dutch Krokets and Friet with Curry Sauce (more foreign snack food)
I love Indian food.
Peanut butter pie.
Coffee (not so much a food and a vital nutreient for me)

This is supposedly a recipe for them - we're going to try it out sometime  TeddyR  It's for 4 1/4 lbs of burgers, so I guess we'll have to reduce the quantities a bit.

I a huge fan of spicy foods so I add a liberal amount of spice to my cooking.  Here are some of my favs;

Red Meat - Cheeseburgers (Red Robin/Johnny Rockets and Burger King are my favs) and I also like tacos (double deckers from Taco Bell) Philly cheese steak and Meatball subs

White Meat - Chicken Quesedialls, Thanksgiving subs, Chicken Caesar wraps and boneless Buffalo chicken

Snacks - saltines, pretzels, chips, Wheat Thins

Side orders - Potatoes in just about any form, Squash, onions and rice

Condiments - Bleu Cheese, Ketchup, Salsa, Cream Cheese, Smart Balance spread

Candy (get ready) - Runts, Nerds, Bottle Caps, M&Ms, Gummis of any form, JuJu Fish, Atomic fire balls, Warheads, Peeps, Candy Corn, Jelly Beans (Sweettart are my ultimate favs), Spree, Peanut Butter Cups and much much more.   I also am an addict of Popsicles.

Breakfast Items (sub category) - I'm a sucker for a great breakfast sandwich. eggs, bagels, sausage and bacon

I'm rather partial to chicken no matter how its prepared. I like bacon too. Baked potatoes (especially with tuna or coleslaw) are another favourite. Steak pie and lasagna are very good too. I've always liked sausages (link or square) as well.
