Looking for an old movie where the lead actor is driving along in the winter and sees someone fall thru the ice. He saves this person, and then is rewarded by being given a job in the family business.

No, the business was not Funeral Home. Don't recall type of business. Takes place 40's or 50's. Thought that it was Paul Newman, Steve Mcqueeen or Robert Wagner as the star, but have drawn blanks on those searches.
