3D somewhat short film - biplane guy delivers mail?

I saw this film which I believe was shorter, but not really a short.  Maybe 45 minutes or something?

Anyway, it was shot in 3D, and this was pre-digital 3D.  I must have seen it in the mid or late 90s.  Saw it on an IMAX screen or something like that - it was in Manhattan and HUGE.  It also used the motorized 3D glasses, and the 3D was the most convincing I've ever seen.

The basic plot was about this guy who delivers mail with a biplane (I think it was a biplane) quite a while back - like the 20s or something?  And he crashes, and has to carry the mail by himself through the mountains and almost dies, but manages to make it.  Does anyone know the film I'm talking about?  He was flying around/in snowy mountains.
