this guy chin kun lu I think is his name.  He did bastard swordswman, secret service of the imperial court, holy flame of the martial world.  he's my favorite director

in general I like kung fu with SOME wires and craziness but not at the expense of everything else and not too fancy like all the recent HK movies.  old school, werid kung fu!

and gordon liu movies.  he is just the coolest

Chinese Super Ninjas aka Five Element Ninjas 1982

I love that film, and it's due out on a newly restored DVD next month!  The review is written, I'm just waiting for the new DVD to put on the final touches.

Also:

Heroes of the East
Drunken Wu Tang (it has to be the dubbed version)
The 36th Chamber of Shaolin

Enter The Dragon
Chinese Connection
Master Of The Flying Guillotine
Even though much of the film is pretty bad, Revenge Of The Ninja for the ninja battle on the rooftop.
Fearless
Monkey Kung Fu
Lone Wolf And Cub/Shogun Assassin
I'm sure I could think of others.

All the Bruce Lee movies - must have watched those 5 time each.  I was really into the Jean Claude Van Damme movies for a bit, but I'm kind of over that now.  Ninja 3 The Domination is another favorite.  Any of those cheesy kung fu movies from the '80s.  Cynthia Rothrock flicks are always good for a chuckle.

I think I'll post all my favorite 70's and 80's Kung Fu movies up 1st, then I'll start posting all my others.

Master of the Flying Guillotine 1974

This is the Kung Fu movie that started it all for me. I watched it with my grandfather in the mid 70's!
