i think i saw this around the late 80s maybe as late as 91.- i always thought it was that short lived show called 100 LIVES OF BLACK JACK SAVAGE. It seems like it may have had Steven Williams in it. I think it may have been a tv movie or pilot for a show. anyway, the only thing i remember is: a guy and a girl breaking to some hi-tech facility to save somebody or stop something from happening. it was probably towards the end when somebody turned into a robot like thing. it had some kind of camara cyclops looking head and was a  metallic color. it may have looked a little like those robots from space truckeres. i can kind of remember it starting with the guys hand first before he completly transformed. towards the end this robot opened a door or hatch in the floor, grabbed on to an overhanging pipe and lowered himself down by a cable from his hand. that was about the end of the story, there was a couple of people there that were releived because the bad guys were taken care of and maybe a bomb was defused or something. then it ended with some guy finishing up the story. i think it may have been a black guy in a restaurant or a bar. it may have been steven williams from that show black jack, but i dont remember him dressed like a pirate, im sure he was in some regular clothes. ive tried to find clips and discriptions of this show and nothing looks or sounds like what i remember. can anybody help with this?

I have seen this, I remember it, I don't know what it was.  There have been a couple of threads on it before but no one can ever remember the title.   Bluesad

This is a long shot, but I recall this made-for-TV movie from 1986:

Annihilator

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Promising lead, but in the movie Kakihara and I were talking about, the main character had a robot inside him that slowly got revealed as he got injured.  Do you know if that happens in Annihilator?

This is a long shot, but it could be Nemesis from 1992.  The movie features robots that resemble humans to the point where you can't tell them apart, and [SPOILERS AHEAD] it turns out that both the bad guys and the hero are really robots.

It's been a long time since I've seen it, but I seem to recall some fight at the end in a plane or helicopter or some other flying vehicle where the hero gets damaged and discovers that he is a robot.  The part where you describe him opening a hatch made me think of this scene in this movie.

I don't know who the Steven Williams character was, though, but like I said it's been a long time since I've seen this movie.  Regardless if this is the movie you are looking for, I do recommend Nemesis for at least one viewing.  No one can resist the scene of the old lady wasting the robot with her handgun.

Unfortunately, Andrew hasn't reviewed it yet, but I did find this.

Could it be "Deadly Friend?" A nerdy guy combines his two best friends (a robot and hot girl next door) to create a killer cyborg. At the end, he sneaks into a morgue and is assaulted by his creation.

At about the 9 minute mark of
this clip Small | Large
is the scene from Nemesis that I think loosely fits

BTW,
this is the scene Small | Large
where the old lady wastes the robot, at about 4 minutes in.

I remember this, the guy got infested with nanobots and they began to work for him, turning parts of him into whatever he needed. In one scene his hand turns into a laser and zaps a car tailgaiting him dangerously.

Dammit I can't find it, but they guy got infected with nano machines, they showed them in his blood cells, and whenever he was in danger they reacted. One scene had him in a car and someone was tailgating dangerounsly, so his hand turns into a laser and zaps the car by bouncing a beam off the mirror, at the end he goes into full machine mode to rescue hmseolf and his girlfriend from the bad guy.

Dammit if I could just get the title down....

Why am I thinking of The Guyver (1991) ?  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101988/

Was there a TV series to follow?

It sounds a little like an Outer Limits episode I saw with John Boy from The Waltons.

His brother has an inoperable brain tumor and John Boy is a nanomachine researcher (of course), so the brother sneaks in and injects himself with the nanomachines.  They end up causing him to grow gills, an extra eye, and stinging jellyfish skin.  And then of course (SPOILERS!!!) the twist ending has John Boy electrocuting his nanomutated brother to death but not until after he has coitally transmitted nanomachines to his girlfriend.

I don't think there were ever any car chases or anything so it's probably not the movie you're thinking of, but I thought maybe you were subconsciously melding two things together so I thought I'd throw it out there.  It also doesn't seem like the right time frame - the Outer Limits episode was from the mid-late 90s.  Question

No, it wasn't this. I know what the guys talking about, saw it but can't recall the title. It was a failed pilot for a super hero type series.
