I can't believe I forgot this one:  George Kennedy in COOL HAND LUKE.  A career-defining performance.  Too bad he went on to make so many inferior movies.

Boris Karloff in FRANKENSTEIN (1931). He kinda set the standered of pathos mixed with horror.
Small | Large

As much of a fan of Lugosi that I am-To give the part to Bela- and not to Boris-would have been a grave mistake. Karloff IS the Frankenstein Monster-Theres no denying  KING KARLOFF-

\"Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!\" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)

Interviewer-"Does Dracula ever end for you?"
Lugosi-"No. Dracula-never ends."
