I don't even think a fourth one is really necessary.  I guess it's better than an early reboot like a lot of franchises are doing.

The last two were painfully confusing and idiotic so I'll be skipping out on this one if it gets made.  Although Bloom and Knightley kind of anchored (non pun intended) the film series anyhow.  Maybe its for the best.

Lagomorphs: menace or underutilized resource?

I was entertained by the movies. I'm glad to hear that Bloom and Knightley won't be in the new one, though; I really disliked Elizabeth, and Will was just not that great of a character, in my opinion. I doubt the new series (if it turns into a series) will have the same success as the first three, but it might be fun.

The first one was by no means a classic but was still a very fun film. I hated the 2nd and 3rd ones however.

This is not a knock on Bloom and Knightley, but Depp and Rush are the actors who make the film franchise. The loss is going to be director Verbinski, and who they can get to replace him.

Anyway, you pretty much figured there would be a fourth film, the way the third film ended.

The interesting thing about doing a film about the Fountain of Youth, the site for this legendary fountain, was believed to have been just inland from Florida's Atlantic coast, and not far from where Walt Disney World now exists.

As for Rush reprising his role, as he has said, "Shine" gave him his Oscar, but his role in "POTC" is what made him famous and gave him his audio-animatronic figure at the Disney theme parks. So, as long as they keep making them, he'll keep acting in them.

Depp, too.
