Seriously? If you want to make that many f**king sequels just turn it into a TV show...

Also... 3D? Really? 3D in horror films suck. It sucked in Friday The 13th part 3 and it sucked in Nightmare On Elm Street 5! Yes, Avatar was awesome... But Avatar knew that to have good 3D they need to NOT make sh*t pop-out at you!

I noticed that movieweb page is out of date. It still has David Hackl as directing it. They decided to get the Saw VI Director Kevin Greutert back to direct it a week before they started shooting (therefore firing David Hackl) as Kevin Greutert had just signed on to direct Paranormal Activity 2 (which will open same weekend as this) which will be direct competition - so Lionsgate decided since they contractually can make him direct it, they would to screw over Paranormal Activity 2!!

They started shooting on Monday I believe.

Ah, Well Movie web is usually behind on things. The Legend Of Zelda movie was still listed on there even after it was revealed to be a joke. It took a while to come down.

That's a shame.  I'd love to see a Legend of Zelda movie, much more than I want another Saw film.

From what I've seen of the series, it jumped after the first film.

Jumped the shark after part III maybe, but the latter ones are still entertaining and pretty intricately-made. I'll admit for a continuity-heavy series like Saw, 7 films is pushing things but I hear this one may be the last (and honestly, with cliffhangers like IV, V, and VI's I'd be disappointed if they stopped at those!).

That's debatable, but I respect your viewpoint. The first was by far the best, and a refreshing film when it came out.

It jumped the shark in the normal sense - the first film was the peak of the series, even if the sequels were still watchable.

I'm actually waiting for Saw LXXXII in 5-D, but this could be interesting.
I think this is the one when they reveal the killer to be a chimpanzee.

Well . . . ?

While horror sequels do have a diminishing return at the boxoffice, there have been some economic studies that show that a horror sequel normally will make more money than a stand alone horror film.

They hope to retain some of the audience that saw parts "II" to "VI."

And by doing the film in 3-D, they can charge the people who see it, $2.00 more a ticket than if they did it in 2-D.

And that's why we're getting "Saw VII" in 3-D. Though, I have no intention of seeing it.
