Forcing myself to relax. I'm a bit stressed because of a project deadline on Wednesday, but there's nothing I can do to work on it tonight. If I don't relax, I'm going to have trouble sleeping and that'll just make things worse.

It's a little past four in the morning and I've given up going back to sleep. I've been fighting the flu for the past few days and have been in bed so much that if I lay there any longer, I fear the development of bed sores  BounceGiggle .

Sitting here, trying very hard to 'rise above' and not break down and cry.  Everything seems so negative lately.  Among far too many other things the crowning piece was that someone I had considered a good friend did some very stupid and vicious things to me yesterday that are likely to have lasting effects on my life and livelihood in this very small community.  And it is raining.  All day.

Cat just threw up all over my desk.  I'm kind of glad I finished eating before he did that - it's not terribly appetizing.

Feeling relieved. I was pretty frustrated with a sculpture, and even though it didn't do so well during today's critique I feel better. It's done, it's over with, and everything that I didn't recycle is edible and very, very tasty.

Thinking about how some things never change, and thanking God for it.

Last week, I went to visit my old neighborhood, after 35 years (1975 being the last time) and found that my dearest and best childhood friends were still there in their original house! And, their parents are still alive, in good health, and at their 50th anniversary mark!

To add to my suprise and awe, their mother instantly remembered me the minute I told them my name!  All 6 of her kids (yes, six) and I always played together. We went swimming, watched monster movies, went bike riding,  you name it. We were all best friends.

I was reunited with 2 of the kids (the one brother and sister) and along with the mother, we spent almost 2 hours talking abut the old days, and the new times. We plan on doing it again sometime soon.

Amid the rapid change and over-developed landscape, it's a Godsend to see that that little part of my town hasn't changed, and that old friends still provide comfort.

Heaven on Earth, baby ! Cheers

Going to bed. Even though I could stay up late tonight if I wanted, I don't want to and anyway I'm feeling a tad sleepy. Besides, I had tonight to relax; tomorrow I've gotta make a few very important calls, start doing some research/planning for a sculpture project, and finish up the design for a zinc plate etching. Busy, busy, busy, but that's how I like it.

Now that I know that the gravekeeper is sleeping, I'm on my way out to go rob some graves.
