CALL FOR ENTRIES International BUT Film Festival 2010

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
This year the BUT Film Festival will take place between September 8th and September 12th in Breda. BUT Film Festival differs from other film festivals by screening movies that deviates from main stream cinema on the level of taste, form and content. BUT stands for B-movies, Underground and Trash. B-movies are made with a small budget without the supervision of a large production company. Underground movies are films that search the boundaries of the admissibility and often contain explicit scenes. Trash movies are over the top for the content as well for the images.
Every year there is a program made up with a variety of films for the hard core fans of experimental, bizarre and absurd movies. Besides films, performances and art is a vast part of the festival.

RETROSPECTIVES
During the festival there will be a retrospective of a director.
In 2009 our main guest was John Waters with a retrospective of his early films. Andrey Iskanov was also invited. In earlier editions the work of David Cronenberg, Cyrus Frisch and the German filmmaker Wenzel Storch were in the spotlights.

INTERNATIONAL CHARACTER
Every year directors, producers and actors from all over the world are invited. In the past this were among others: Fred Vogel, JT Pretty, Andrew van den Houten, Lloyd Kaufman, Christian Viel, Adam Wingard and Javi Camino. Soke titles we screened in earlier editions are: Reise ins Gluck, Stagknight, S&Man, Evil Aliens, Go-Go Motel, August Underground, The Girl Next Door, Popskull, Otto, Maldito Bastardo, Recon 2021 and Recon 2022.
