One thing I'm curious about: are these actually fully legit remakes?  As in, they've actually paid for the rights to use the original storyline?  I have to admit, the idea of PAYING to use Plan 9's story boggles my mind.   Buggedout

Being in the public domain they don't need to pay for any rights to remake it.

That's correct, though I didn't realize until just now that PLAN 9 was public domain.

"The best parts are watching Sly go through the full range of emotions: deadpan, deadpan with raised eyebrow, deadpan with quivering lip. There's also a great sequence where Sly drives his VW Beetle down the interstate for about 20 minutes, staring dramatically through the windshield.."-Joe Bob on A MAN CALLED RAMBO

Wow, I didn't realize that either.  How come none of the 50 movie packs seem to feature it?  At least, I don't recall ever seeing it on any of them.  It is in some cheapy 3-packs though...

My marketing guess is that PLAN 9 is popular enough that people will pay a small premium to buy it in a single disc edition, so there's no need to bundle it with other films to make it attractive.
