... in the movies.  I have seen the government in the movies fail tons of times due to being idiots (See Mars Attacks), because of someone's ego (See Evolution), or because of something else.  So, can name any movies where the government (Could be any kind of government) really fails big time.  I put up Evolution and Mars Attacks up, but I would like to acknowledge the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still.

We live in quite an interesting age. You can tell someone's sexual orientation and level of education from just their interests.

Wow.. there's WAY too many movies to list that fit that criteria in the bad-movie realm!

But a few:
Piranha
Humanoids From The Deep
Alligator
Food Of The Gods

Notice they usually have to do with some animal being a lot more destructive than usual as a result of government foul-ups.

1984 - that was kind of messed up.

I don't know if this qualifies because it was a "good" movie, but how about Dr. Strangelove? Government incompetence was one of the films central themes.
