Okay, about 5 or so years ago there was a movie I believe on SyFy (was Sci-Fi at the time) that I really need to find the title of.

What I remember is--some people find a cargo ship, or just a ship, something, and once they open it something sort of small and cocooned shaped jumps out and slithers down the hall. I can't really remember much afterwards, but I believe this thing grows, they get the military (or...?) into the action, then they finally kill it. Once examined by a doctor, she find an egg within the creature. Then obviously it escapes and the only other detail I remember is this black guy it has an encounter with, then just kills him...

Please help x] I beg you!

I would also like the add that the movie is fairly old, not new. They were just having a marathon of oldies x.x

Maybe either "Proteus" (1995) or "The Thing Below" (2004)?

Sounds like you saw a double bill of Alien and Aliens.

Thinking back on this, "The Intruder Within" (1981) matches, and it is an older made-for-TV movie that really copies "Alien," but on an oil platform.  I wish they would release it on DVD; I have an old VHS (with a huge case) in my collection.

Great movie.  I wish I could find this on DVD or VHS.  I remember watching it a long time ago with I was a young B-Movie lover.

Oh, yeah, great movie.   Thumbup

I will confirm it matches most plot points RykiBloom listed, EXCEPT:

The black guy lives (!!!)
No military guys show up

Another possibility has occurred to me:

Blue Monkey

It has a coccoon, growing creature, eggs, and military presence.  However, the black guy survives (!!!) here, too.
