Mofo, is Last Temptation of the Christ worth it to watch?  I'm sorta curious to see it...

I thought it was great. It does take a different approach, and is quite eerie at times.

The soundtrack by Peter Gabriel is pretty classic, too.

It was banned for quite a few years in SA and when I finally saw it, I asked myself why it was banned.  Question

My favorite religious themed film is James Collier's Joni with Joni Eareckson-Tada. Even someone who has no beliefs would be inspired by that film. Smile

It was banned because it showed Christ having a  family. also, it was written by a Greek Communist who hated the Church. Still, A ban is better than what happened  to that cartoonist or others who even try to depict Mohammad in a movie, they end up dead.

Ben-Hur (1959) is an amazing movie, simply fantastic

I'm going to throw The Judas Project into the mix.  It puts the story of Jesus into modern times (circa 1990).  It is just bad but I can't help but enjoy it.

I also enjoy the rapture based movies, the apocalypse series (apocalypse, revelation, tribulation and judgment) and the left behind series.

I love PRINCE OF EGYPT and BEN-HUR.
There was a made-for-tv movie, simply called JESUS I think, came out about 10 years ago and starred Jeremy Sisto, that was pretty good.  Oddly, I haven't watched that many Biblical movies, despite having had a fairly conservative Christian upbringing.
It's been a while since I've seen it but I remember kind of hating THE 10 COMMANDMENTS, mostly because we had to watch it on ABC every single Easter.
