Early 80's movie with 1979-1983 Ford Mustang

I am looking for an early 80's movie which had a 1979-1983 Ford Mustang in it (you know, the one with the 4 square headlights). I think the main character was a cowboy-type young man. As far as I remember he offered a ride to a girl. I don't remember what happened later, but I guess they became romantically involved or something. It's not Smokey and the Bandit, because Burt Reynolds was not the guy! Besides, I clearly remember the car was a Mustang (The Trans Am in Smokey and the Bandit also has 4 square headlights like the then-current Mustang.) - they mentioned it in the movie. Did this movie have Brad Pit in it.  I can't remember the movie name right now, but there is a movie with Brad Pit and a older Mustand that came out in the eighties.

To be totally hones, I can't remember if it was Brad Pitt, because to me most men look all the same. However, I'm sure the guy was young. It can't be Brad Pitt, because it was from the early 80's, I mean the clothes, haircuts and everything was from the early 80's.
