So I've been playing Silent Hill: Shattered Memories for a while and have found it very enjoyable.  It is a reimagining of the first (In name only most of the time) and it is pretty creepy.  Just wandering through the quite and strange town with barely anyone around just gets me.  Makes me wonder where the heck is everybody since I do know that there is in fact people (I've called people and have run into citizens who do not seem to notice much about the emptiness).

Anyways, if you played the games in the series, what games do you like?  I've only played Shattered Memories and it has peaked my interest in the franchise.

I plyed the first and third one.

Very spooky !
A little too spooky for my taste. I'm a sissy when it comes to horror games.

Silent hill 2 is a masterpiece.
I was depressed for 3 days after I finished it. It's a really powerful game, and it's story is just genius.
Truly an example of art in video games.

IMO the first Silent Hill is the scariest game... ever! I have played it through a dozen times or more and it still scares the crap out of me. The second one is alright but I didn't care for the third and fouth.  Origins is pretty good as is homecoming.. shattered memories is too short. Knocked that one out in about 6 hours. not cool   Thumbdown

I have finished it myself now and it does seem short... but that does not make it any less awesome.  I really loved it and thought the plot was great.  The twist at the ending really shocked me.  The nightmare sequences, while annoying sometimes, were pretty clever.  The second to last one was really tense and very clever.  I felt like I was stuck in the Twilight Zone almost.  Also, you got to admit, you got spooked a couple of times during the game.  The school part got me a couple of times.

I did get spooked a couple of times and a few of the puzzles were interesting but when I drop 30+ bucks for a game I get a little irritated when I can finish it in an afternoon and it has almost no reply value. You really should find a copy of the original.. now that is scary. The school(creepy little squeaky things), the hospital..(damn nurses) when it goes from normal to weird I tense up and cant wait for it to be normal again.   TeddyR

The puzzles are really good in it as well.

Well there is replay value.  Depending on different things you do, the game will change.  Of course, since you beat it, the official UFO ending is now opened up.  Find 13 UFOs and get the goofy ending at the end.  I'll be trying for that later.

Silent Hill 1 is suppose to be good and I will try to play it at some point, but right now, I need to play something a bit more cheery to combat that depressing and freaky game.  Back to Paper Mario!

I've always been a fan of the second one, especially if you have a stereo system.  That way it sounds like some of the ambient noise is right be-f**king-hind you.  Sweet Jeebus did it scare the crap out of me at times.

I might be the minority on this one but the third one was my favorite. I got all the endings, all the costumes and I enjoyed how  it was connected to the first one.
