Thanks for entertaining me with a slew of bad movies and then, when I watched Tunnel Rats, for making me think "Is the Uncle Uwe that I know? Because this is a very good film indeed."

Then when I watched Darfur at its' SA premiere and cried my way through most of it (especially the ending), I realized that the Pod People had taken over Uncle Uwe and left him with one thing: the ability to make good movies.

Thanks, Uncle Uwe. *HUG*  Smile

I get such a kick out of Ewe.  I never pass up the opportunity to watch an interview of him, usually full of "You say my movies suck?  Well f*** you."   TeddyR

I will never forget that screening of Darfur in Cape Town two months ago ~ at the end of the film, there was dead silence, no applause, no nothing. The producer Chris Roland came down the aisle and told us that he was sorry if we thought we were coming there to be entertained as "Uwe and myself didn't set out to entertain anyone".  Buggedout

I'm glad he's around.  He makes a great worst case scenario in ways Ed Wood never could.

You can say things like "The movie might not have been great, but it's not like Uwe Boll did it or anything." and everybody will immedialty know what you're talking about.

I kind of liked the only Boll movie I've seen, HOUSE OF THE DEAD.  A true, sincere bad movie in the tradition of Wood or Coleman Francis or Andy Milligan, the kind you don't see much of anymore.

I also like his public persona: challenging his critics to a boxing match was one of the weirdest, coolest ideas I've heard of in a long time.

And I'm favorably disposed to anyone who annoys the general public.   Smile

It is: several members of the audience walked out of the film as they couldn't take the horrific images. It isn't a gory film but the depiction of violence as far as killing and raping go is almost too real.  Buggedout
