have posted this before with NO luck.  I saw this movie in the theatre between 1969-1974 .. I just don't remeber,

There is a plaster design on the bedroom wall.. an oval shaped  like a door.  there is a guy who keeps having the same dream night atfer night about a trial. He is NOT on trial.  On the third or forth night of having the same dream ... he speaks up in the court room, for this he is slapped in the face causing him to bleed.. The next morning he awakes,, with his lip bleeding and the plaster design /door open ... he walk through the door and finds an empty court room.   The other psot peolle answered: Deadly Dream 1971.. thank but that is NOT the movie.

Please help.

There's a classic Twilight Zone episode called "Shadow Play" that sounds quite a bit similar plotwise except here every night the lead character dreams after a trial that he's to be executed in the electric chair. The 80s Twilight Zone also remade this I believe.

Thanks - but that's not it.  The guy wasn't on trial - he just happened to walk in the court room. I remember that the trial was very strange/weird - the people were dress very odd.

I haven't seen it yet and I hate to sound obvious, but could it be THE TRIAL (LE PROCESE) directed by Orson Welles?

The movie I am looking for was in color, came out sometime between 1969-1972+.... and the guy wasn't on trial.  still thanks though

It may be 'the Curse of the Crimson Altar'  (1968) but I was only 3/4 years old.  I am not sure if I could of seen this movie at that age. I view the trailer on you tube.  I am downloading the movie to see if it's the one. I will let you know.

Thanks to all who tried to help :)
