Monster chasing two kids

(I accidentally posted this in "solved" first time around...whoops)

I have a vivid memory of watching a movie on TV when I was about 5 years old (most likely an 80's movie) of a green slimy monster chasing a girl and a boy down an empty hallway - I want to say it was in a school.

The only definitive thing about it I can describe is the ending where they set off an explosive and there is a close up of the monster making some goofy noise and a face before being blown up.  Then it's over.

I'd be REALLY impressed with anyone who can identify this...

(Since I was 5 years old, some of the memory facts may be wrong.  So send me anything that comes to mind please!)

You know what - someone on another forum solved this for me!

It was "Class of Nuk'Em High" - I definitely got some of the details wrong.

Glad it was solved.     The monster making a goofy face/noise and getting blown up was making me think of Nuke Em High, but the people it was chasing weren't exactly "kids".

I know they look about 25! Funny how your brain just makes things up when you're little.
