OK. Why does netflix not just show me their entire catalog? Like, wtf I pay for a service but in order to use it completely I have to go to a different site and look at the entire catalog? It baffles me to no end...and then I also have to deal with the circle jerk of a rating system that will only give me shows IT thinks I'll like so it continually gives me back the five to ten same movies again and again under slightly different categories over and over... /firstworldproblems

What is the other site you go to?

I use http://www.canistream.it/ sometimes, but not specifically to search Netflix, just to see if certain movies are available anywhere.

When I go to login to a site, and I type the first letter of my username, and the whole thing appears in a pop-up box - but when I go to click on it, it disappears and I have to type the whole thing anyway!

It's like the Internet is mocking me . . . .

Sony bluray movies. Twice now I have ordered bluray movies from Sony and they won't play for some odd reason. I checked before buying them and both were supposed to be Region 1 compatible with my bluray player.

I guess I'm boycotting blurays from Sony in a related note.

^ Yeah I love the way I've watched several hundred B movies on Netflix, but lately I've watched a handful of documentaries so my ENTIRE "top picks for Jack" is all documentaries.

I know, it's a "completely out of real problems" thing to complain about but, yeah. I mainly use Netflix for lower-profile, indie movies that didn't get theatrical runs in my area, and tv show marathon-ing - and this has somehow convinced the system that I desperately want to see SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK.  Question Every time I log in, the first thing I see is Bradley Cooper's dead doll eyes and J.Law's b***hsmirk. It's not happening, Netflix.

How when my dog is going to throw up, he walks unswervingly away from the tile floor, passes across wood flooring, and walks over to the carpet to do it.

I heard that Geraldo Rivera took his dog for an hour walk in Central Park - the dog didn't do his business - and when they got back to their building, the dog did a poo in the elevator.  Buggedout Buggedout

Biggest storm of the season thus far...high winds, tonnes of snow, wicked wind chill values and we are told to stay off the roads...and our thermostat decided to start malfunctioning Sunday evening.   Thumbdown Thumbdown Thumbdown Hatred The house has been 43 degrees F (that is 6 dgrees C) since 8 pm.  Bluesad (< see that?  That's blue: as in cold!)  Coming on 12 hours soon - and we won't be able to get anyone in to repair it until late this afternoon.   Lookingup

I'd better get busy and do some heavy-duty baking to help warm the place up.

Will do.  I already have a request in for boterkoek.  (Mind you, the butter is rock solid right now) And three kinds of muffins.   But Trevor: you'd have to put on your clean undies and brave the drifts to get your share!  I know how you regard snow.  ;)  Picture it: the ground is completely white and buried 1/3 metre deep...with drifts to 1m...and it is still blowing by at 45kmph!  Any time you feel 'up' for it, you are welcome here.  Coffee's on - and the mulled cider is heating in the crockpot.

When a film franchise gets a reboot and the director/producer calls it "the true sequel".  It always sounds so condescending to the other films or makes the guy sound so full of themselves. Like their the only one who understood the IP properly.

Neil Blomkamp said this about his upcoming reboot.   When Predators (2010) came out, one of the makers (I think it was Robert Rodriguez) said in their film was the true sequel and would ignore Predator 2.  I liked Predator 2.

I get reboots.  I get sometimes its best to just start over with the continuity. I get things occasionally need to be updated.  I've seen it done well,(Dc Comics COIE) I've seen it done poorly.  (DC's new 52).  I just don't like it when when the new team takes such a dismissive attitude to the previous work.
