Recent and weird bLack and white movie about a town 2007 to 2009

There was this weird trailer I watched on yahoo movies. I tried looking for it in my  history to get the name of it..so I could rent it..but it must have been over six months ago.

In the trailer there is something about the town and maybe one of the kids...and I think there was a murder. The Black and white part is really vibrant. The movie might be foreign as well..I feel like there was subtitles.  The title of the movie was short. I want to say the word "white" was in the title.

Also I remember people walking on gravel and the crunching was really loud.. lol..incase that might jog someones memory..I wanted to throw that in there.

I think it is the Austrian movie "Das weisse band" (The Wihite Ribbon).

It got an oscar nomination, so it might be more common in advertisements.
