Brian Jones definately. The Stones were so good with him and soon after he died they became terrible for many decades.

George Harrison.

Also:
Bo Diddley
Joe Strummer
Buddy Holly

and, if he counts, which he should to a degree, although he wasn't "rock", Michael Jackson.

Definitely Jimi Hendrix, I used to listen to his stuff all the time.  A true musical genius.

I'll add John Entwistle, AKA "Thunderfingers"- Bassist for The Who and probably greatest bassist ever.

Another trivia question- Which three musicians were pictured on Fender's "Fiftieth Anniversary of the Stratocaster" catalogue? Large hint: only one is still alive.

OK, nobody got the trivia question so I'll take care of ya... The three rockers who made it onto the cover of the Fender Strat 50th anniversary catalog were: JImi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. I thought somebody would've  at least guess Eric Clapton since he's still alive- at least last time I checked. TongueOut

I never even saw the post with the question.  If I had, I'd have thrown out Clapton. Bluesad
