I don't remember much about this movie or its name, but I know that there was this guy who chooses 5 teens to master fire, water, air, metal. The was a scene where the black guy trying to master fire had to learn to cut fire in half. I don't know what year this came out but I know this is an old movie. I don't remember ever seeing a trailer for this to come out in the movies, so this might have came out in another country or it could have been in underground move. But it was shown on TV once. It could have been a TV movie. i remember lighting at the end of the movie, don't know if that help.
