Hello,

The name if this film has been driving m crazy.

The storyline is basically about how the majority of the human population seems to be born with the inability to procreate.
So the young women that are born with the ability are being rounded up and forced to become kind of surrogates for couples in high society who can't produce children of their own.

They're kept in a prison type place first and then sort of brainwashed into believing that they are the privileged ones to be given this honor.  All I can remember is some ceremony where they are all dressed in white and red robes of some sort.

Then this lady gets picked to become a surrogate for a family and the lady of the house is a complete b**ch, because she's jealous.  Eventually she gets pregnant and then finds her old lover from before she was captured and manages to escape and run away from them.

HELP!!!!  Can anyone remember what this film is called?

I've tried Google but can't find anything on it and not sure how to use imdb to search for film when you don't have a name or title.

Thanks in advance if you can help me!

I know the date is more recent, but it could be The Handmaid's Tale (1990) based on the novel by the same title by Margaret Attwood. They wear red robes with a bit of white and the plot is very like what you describe.
