I'm looking forward to it. This seems like the only summer blockbuster worth seeing. Is it just me, or is this summer one of the worst in years for summer releases? Just about everything so far looks unwatchable.

Definitely not just you.  I've heard some claim this as the worst year for summer "event" type films in the past 30 years.  The only one I've been COMPLETELY satisfied with has been Toy Story 3, though Inception was also up there.

Maybe I'm easy to please, but I thoroughly enjoyed THE SORCEROR'S APPRENTICE.  I will say that INCEPTION looks pretty cool though!!

This movie played with mind so much, when I left the theater I felt like I was in "Limbo"; Overall A+ movie, with A+ acting... and the ending led me to believe I didn't fully figure the movie out.  Thumbup

I've been avoiding this thread for spoilers. I just got back from seeing it. I'm mildly dissapointed, it was really good and I enjoyed it but my expectation were too high I suppose.
It had great acting from everyone, very original movie and really good overal. I just expected a little more.

Must have been very mild considering you still gave it a 4.5. I'm seeing it on Saturday.

I like to think of it as a "heist" movie that explores some really surreal topics. I love the idea of that. Unfortunatley I agree with the person who said that they just couldn't connect with the movie or at least with Leo's acting. He didn't seem to really feel any pain or loss or guilt even though hus character was wrapped up in all those things.
It was a great idea on paper but in reality I just wasn't moved by it.

Finally saw it this weekend. I was very impressed. I thought it was well conceptualized and delivered. This is the kind of movie where the concept, no matter how big a budget the filmmaker has, seems nearly impossible to pull off, yet Christopher Nolan did it very well, and I'm sure he worked his ass off pulling it all together. And it didn't stoop to using cheap plot tricks. The ending just sort of happened and it didn't really answer any questions, but it didn't have to and it didn't take anything away from the previous 2+ hours. The concept alone was enough. Hats off. Perfect film? No, but close. 4.7/5.

INCEPTION is officially a classic.

Evidence: Armond White hates it.

I must have missed it during the opening credits, but now that I know Chrsitopher Nolan also wrote the script I'm even more impressed. The idea was great and it was well written. That actually makes sense. If Christpher Nolan had tried to pull off such a concept written by someone else, it probably would have failed miserably.

I agree with the general impressions. Not perfection made summer blockbuster (too much action scenes IMHO), but very, very close. The concept is fascinating, the plot twists keep on coming, and the conflict of DiCaprio's character was plain amazing. The best movie of the year, so far, and the best Nolan since "Memento". I'd go as far as saying it is better than "Memento" at some points, the story is more complex and mature.

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.
