this is one reason I do not like cartoon to movie films, they blatantly chop the actual story line to fit a less than 2 hour time marker.  Hatred

The acting (shaking my head)... the acting of this movie will have the honor of being mentioned among other badly acted movies such as Gigli, Glitter, Catwoman, Howard the Duck, etc.... this movie WILL definitely win a Razzie Award (undoubtedly).

Direction (ahahaha) BounceGiggle....Was there any directing from the director??? I know that the director is overall responsible for the casting (I have no problem with the actors being white and not asian; if and only IF these individuals were the best (I strongly believe there could have been BETTER actors). ALL I ASK IS @ LEAST ONE ASIAN actor be casted as a LEAD!!!!!!!!!

BUT my question is who picked M. Night Shyamalan to direct this movie... (anyone, anyone, Bueller??? ) Question

:thumbup:OF All THINGS @ LEAST the VISUALS were appealing such as Appa, Momo, the elemental bending; they were outstanding; But Visuals cant save bad acting (thats like putting hot syrup on frozen pancakes...Pointless)  Lookingup

Plz God, do NOT allow M. Night Shymalan to direct any of the future Avatar movies (if any in the future).

Overall Grade: D-

After seeing a movie that casted ferrets as rats... So I dont think race/skin should matter. I'm only saying this because I've been hearing lots of b***hing about the characters race. Its just a movie.

I dont think the conversion of the cartoon to movie is a factor. I do think the converson of a long series into a short 2 hr movie does become a factor.

Although I havent seen it yet... I'm hoping that the Cascade Drive-in will have Airbender and Piranha 3D... :)

I haven't met one person who actually liked The Last Airbender. M. Night hasn't made a decent movie since Signs.

Fixed that for you.   BounceGiggle

(Okay, I admit THE SIXTH SENSE was entertaining on first viewing, but since it does not stand up to multiple viewings, it's hard for me to consider it "good."  Entertaining "trick" is the best I can say; like knowing the secret of a magic trick...once you know the trick, what's the point.)

Kind of funny, I've somehow managed to avoid ever seeing the Sixth Sense again.  I should probably watch it again at some point to see if I agree that it doesn't hold up - based on what I remember of it, I THINK I would agree, but you never know...  I've seen Unbreakable a half dozen times now and always enjoy it, at least.

That said, I met someone a while ago who really enjoyed The Last Airbender.  They thought it was "Great".  It might be worth adding that they have the worst taste in movies of anyone I have ever known in my life.

My friends and I are planning to see it when it hits the local $1 theatre.

I saw it, everything sucked except for the visuals. Bad acting, terrible writing...
But I did think it was entertaining, oddly enough.
Do note that I had not seen anything of the show when I saw the movie. I recently saw the 3 cartoon seasons and really loved it. I think I'd of hated the movie if I had become a fan of the cartoon before I saw it.
Also it was the first movie I ever saw in 3D in the theaters. I thought that was quite cool, although I heard the 3D was bad. I can't tell, it being my first 3D movie.
