It looks like someone got it in his head to make a sequel to Manos: The Hands of Fate.  Apparently the title for this film is going to be Manos: The Search for Valley Lodge.

 Buggedout

And surviving cast members Jackey Raye Newman Jones and Bernie Rosenblum are supposed to appear in the film.

Read about this today, was gonna make a thread but came across yours.

The hell is going on?  The first is the WORST movie of all time (although, I like it for some odd reason).  Yeah, it's worse than Plan 9.  Worse than Hard Rock Zombies.

I'm a bit curious as to see the sequel when it's completed.

I started a topic on this a while back (though I didn't know the title yet): http://www.badmovies.org/forum/index.php?topic=130416.0.  Opinions were divided.  I still fear it's going to be one of those "deliberate bad movies" and end up as a not very funny joke.

Here's Torgo:

Small | Large

This is very funny in small doses but I can see it wearing thin over 90 minutes.

The latest on this is jaw-dropping, because they are saying that Tom Neyman will return as The Master.

Well, it's nice to see that after "Manos: Hands of Fate," that Tom Neyman still has a career in films.

Just my opinion, but I think they should have shot on crappy 16mm stocks instead of digital video.  Kept the look the same.  From the looks of the thing though, they may not have a 5+ grand that would cost in film stock and related costs.  At least, I'm assuming they're using DV, since all the pre-production video is.  Who knows though, maybe I'll be surprised.

BTW, the poster art is pretty good.

I am looking forward to this, but after watching some videos on torgolives.com I am guessing that it will be a comedy.  Some of the videos are hilarious, Torgo's version of The Eagles' Take It Easy for instance, but I think a serious approach to the feature length movie is ideal.  It has already been said here that playing this for laughs will be tiring over the course of 90 minutes.  The problem with playing it straight, as Hal Warren did with the original film, is that it will probably be extremely tedious.  The reason, as everyone reading this knows, that the original Manos is entertaining is that it is so completely inept yet earnest.  I just don't think anyone can catch that kind of lightning in a bottle again in this age of advanced technology.  I applaud the makers of Manos: The Search for Valley Lodge for launching this project, but I don't know that it will ever be the same kind of mindblowing cinematic experience that is Manos, the hands of fate.

I'm actually kinda excited for this, But i'm still keeping expectations at a low till I see it. I kinda have been dismissing it but it sounds really cool that Tom Neyman's going to be in it. and I kinda wanna see if he still looks like Frank Zappa

Looks like one of those posters you see when starting a Left 4 Dead campaign.
