I just got a glimpse of it on tv.  The charecters were wearing mandatory 80s spandex.  The battled each other using giant robotics but it wasn't something out of japan.

I thonk there was a sequel called Crash And' Burn too.  In the case of Robot Jox, it was another one of Charles Band's Full Moon quick cheapos that he said would fulfill his promise of "200 Movies By The year 2000."  Wonder if he ever made it?

I've seen "Crash And Burn" on DVD and rather enjoyed it although the action was a little thin on the ground until the end.

Yeah, he made it, with one to spare. As far as I can tell, he was the producer/executive producer, both credited and uncredited, for both theatrical films and straight-to-video films, on 201 films made between 1973 and 2000. Since I don't have my calculator with me, I'll let someone else figure out many films that is per year. And he hasn't stopped yet, as he's still producing.
