Old sci-fi serial ... can't remember the name

Ok, this one is really sketchy .... I think I remember line one scene from one episode.

So, its a futuristic sci-fi serial .......... they travel in a futuristic modified white-colored bus (from what I can remember) - very vague memory for this one!

All I remember is something from one episode .... I remember a huge chessboard like thingy ..... perhaps some kind of challenge/obstacle they were getting thru ...... that's all I've got, Sorry!!

Any clues?

I think you may be remembering an episode of the 70s series "Ark II".
First, a pic of the bus.

I think Bargle 5 is right. I have a book called TO BE CONTINUED-it covers all the old serials-and nothing matches....the closet match I can figure would be -serial wise-would be UNDERSEA KINGDOM,or KING OF THE ROCKET MEN. I Believe he got it!
