1934- the Black Cat w/Boris Karloff.. in this movie. Before he goes to sleep (Boris) what book is he reading.  I once that it was the Satanic Bible but Anton Lavey read that book in 1969.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum.

If you had asked a few weeks ago I would have been able to tell you; I had the Bela Lugosi Collection at home from Netflix.  I don't remember the actual name of the book Karloff was shown reading; I think it was something generic like "The Rituals of Satan."  The Poelzig character was reportedly modeled off Aleister Crowley (not Lavey) so it might have been an actual Crowley title, though I doubt it given his strange titles.  Sorry I can't really help, I always assumed it was just a prop book with a fake title.

"...written by Joseph Stefano, the guy who wrote 'Psycho,' only this time instead of being about a guy having trouble accepting the death of his Mama, it's a girl having trouble accepting the death of her Daddy. It happened 14 years ago, when she was seven, and ever since then she's wanted to stab men to death with a screwdriver whenever they try to get too close to her. Of course, I've encountered this 'killer screwdriver syndrome' with several women during my lifetime..."-Joe Bob on BLACKOUT
