I AM THE BAD PHOTOSHOP EFFECT!

« on: October 28, 2010, 09:54:02 PM »

Rifftrax is by the writers/creators of MST3K.  They produce audiio files of them making fun of movies both modern and old.  You need the movie then start it when the file tells you too.

They also did two live shows that where broadcast to theaters around the nation.  I just got back from seeing the second one tonight where they did a commentary for the original House on Haunted Hill.  I wnet with some friend who had a good time, depite not sharing the same love of bad movies that I do.  A couple months ago, they did Reffer Maddness

Along with the movies, the riffers looked at some movie shorts that where just freaky in concept. The two this time where grat.  One was about a witch that shows people how to save money in grocery stores by buying cheap brands and the other was about a magical paper bag that teaches a young boy about paper through its reality changing powers.

Funny stuff.

Anyone else go to either event?

I didn't go to either of those events, but I went to their PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE broadcast last year.  I had a great time, despite being skeptical about the idea of "riffing" on a movie that is so damn funny with no help.  The ricocheting bullet noise Bill made every time Paul Marco waved his gun about were priceless.  The short and the comedy sketch extras were nice too.

Gah!  I keep forgetting to check when they're coming to St. Louis.  And whenever I find out about stuff like this, it's always almost too late!

Then again, if I get tickets for that, I'll be seeing Cinematic Titanic and Chuck Berry live in the same week.  How weird would that be?   TeddyR

Saw both Reefer Madness and House On Haunted Hill, the shorts are generally funnier though IMO.
